THE SUN CAME BACK!

It rained and rained I mean it really rained.  We went weeks without one drop of rain and in one week we more than made up for it.  I had a river here, you all know the one I am talking about, it had maybe two to three feet in it, after the snow melt then no precipitation.  I was not complaining but the fire marshals were. I have used that time wisely getting more of the home painted and yard ready to sit back and enjoy this summer.

Mowed for the 2nd time.  It smells so heavenly here after it is mowed, not sure of all the different kinds of grasses that are in the lower yard.   There are all kinds of  Violets, white and purple, Buttercups(do not know the real names)clover lots of clover and grasses are all mixed in, down here along the river.  There is always frogs and snakes Chilin here as well as snapping turtles and sun turtles.  I heard our Raccoon chattering along the stream as well.  I had not one but two Red Tailed Hawks here yesterday afternoon,  which meant most of my backyard birds spent some time hiding.  I wonder if they were in their flight drying their beautiful feathers and enjoying the gorgeous day as were the three of us.  We did not do a BBQ’s and saw no one it was such  a very nice day in the yard after all the rain.    I did a weeks worth of Laundry and hung them all on the line to dry in the sun and breeze they were done in no time and folded and put away.

Looks different from all the snowy ones you have seen.  Spring and fall are my favorite times to be here in New Hampshire.

Soon I will have roses in full bloom all over this yard, with smells that are just as pretty as the Lilacs,  which have been  gorgeous but are now fading.

It has been so nice to get back in touch with you and more and more will be added as I find you trust me I am looking !

Have a beautiful week in your yards.

Such a pretty but cold day here in New England.

It is January 5 TH and with a foot plus of snow still in the yard I suppose it is how it is supposed to be.

I will bite my tongue as Tuesday it will be FORTY!

Hoping the snow I did not get off the roof will run like a faucet then.  I am just now moving around without horrible pain.

WISE OLD PINE

Wise Old Pine

You know I love this one

Imagine the stories it could tell

Who has found their way to sit on a table under its outstretched branches

How many others thought it was worthy of a few photos

I have been here at the lake many times both in a boat and walking in the woods

This day I was there to see how much water was to be let out so I could prepare for the

flooding that would take place at home when they did and as I walked the different areas of

the shoreline I caught  sight of this tree through the others

Holding on tight to anything it can grab

Trees amaze me

The power they hold it is what I am after

The ability to hold on

Stay strong

Stand Tall

Reaching out with  my roots

Finding BALANCE

No matter the storms I brace myself for

I may adore the colors of Maples in the fall

The Willow in my yard

Pines such as this with so many stories

It continues to cling to the rocks, soil, earth

It is busted and broken but still here

Trees inspire me to keep on keeping on

Blues and Greens

100_5081

No matter the weather

Sun or Clouds

I love this place so much

Wave after wave

Right on the heels of another

Crashing

Curling

Spraying water  all around

I guess maybe I am drawn to the sea for her POWER

As it is so plain to see

Waves roll onto the shore after making their display

I really could just sit here with the camera

The dog too

All day

Photo after photo,  all the same but really just a little different

Can you see

How I love the Sea

100_5025

Not what you thought sorry

My place for pretty curls  has always been the sea  after a nasty ocean storm

Sun was out and curl after curl appeared

Wish I had had a tripod set up  or sat down for these

For tack sharp photos are what most of us are always after

Enjoy your day!

These Pine Cones may with the help of water and wind start a new TREE

Every thing in nature catches my eye

Even these cones

They were attached to a tree along a pathway leading to the Sea in Maine

It was winter

We took a long ride to get out for exercise

I took the camera and he the detector

No matter how many rings and things he finds

I still say I came home with the best treasures

All others were Brown or void of leaves so this tree sitting in the sun on a beautiful Saturday morning was a treat for ME

Such a Pretty Tree

Seems I have done my share of blogs with TREES but this type I LOVE it is very much ALIVE! lol

A walk around the fair

The photo above was a bus that was actually selling FOOD Items at the Fair.

They were doing GREEN things.  You know cooking with the SUN also using

used oil, either from french fries or the bus it’s self.

As I was walking along the path this is the end I saw first.

Intrigued to be sure I snapped the photo then went to see what they were all about.

Cool couple were cooking up some interest in their lifestyle besides what was on the menu.

You just never know what you will see or learn if you just pay attention to the world around you.

I am not one to walk around texting.

I seldom even have my cell in my hand, it is safely at the bottom of my purse, should I ever have

an emergency arise.

Now the camera is usually in my hand or around my neck.  You really just never know what you will see.

This TALL MAN really wanted me to take his photo, so I did.

I had to find something healthy to eat, after all it was a Fair.

Fried Dough, Corn Dogs, Sausage with Peppers and Onions, French Fries, Frozen Ice Cream you know the deal what was I to choose.

Apples!

The perfect choice for HEALTH

lol

I brought it home and sliced  it so I could PACE MYSELF over a few days.

Hummingbirds and Me

Hummingbirds  and me go back a long  way.

I love the little jewels who make this long

journey here each spring.

They arrive just about the time my Apple tree blooms.

It is one reason the tree is still here how would I know when to get their sugar-water

ready and hang out the feeders.  I always have the place ready for them to rest, fuel up

and build their nests and raise their young.

The photos here are taken with an  Kodak Easy Share , no tripod and some just in the wrong light

for such an inexpensive camera  but I wanted you to see some of them who call this

place their 2nd home.

Salvia is always here waiting for them too.

She is so tiny and beautiful as she sits and watches me

She will soon have her strength back from her long trip

and ready her nest and raise her little ones.

A young male sits on a Lilac branch.

I always keep feeders close enough to a bush,  for them to take cover in.

I wonder how I will capture them on a tripod

as they dart to and from flower to feeders

must learn to use flash to stop their action!

I use a variety of feeders  for their nectar.

Always near plantings or real flowers they love.

As you can see the sugar trumps the Petunia this time.

Incoming!

Always waits for its turn at one of the open spots in the feeder.

Right now the bees and this female are sharing nicely

Hoped you liked my Hummingbirds

27 years ago when I had to pick a CB Handle this

was it, Hummingbird is what the truckers knew me by

coast to coast.

I have just one tattoo and it is a life-size one, yes

Born to be Wild!

Have a nice day

Don’t forget to plant or place a feeder out for these little ones.
