I loaded the cameras charged batteries into each one and added them to the huge bag to keep them safe.
I put JT’s collar on her as I do each time we venture from the yard.
This time we climbed into the already warm truck as it was horrid out.
I needed to make a trip into Portsmouth area. Newington actually was my first stop.
Have you heard about Habitat For Humanity I am sure you have, well they have a re-store there and as it goes to a good cause I thought I would start there for things I needed in the house. Wow! I will be back and I hope enough people support them so it stays open for a very long time. They had what I was looking for and even things I needed but had no idea till I got there so I did not come prepared with the measurements I would need. See they sell windows and doors and lots of them for $5.00, $10 and $20 each! I have a foggy plant/greenhouse type window beside my desk which is only good for light other than that it is useless after over 30+ years. It is time for a large window with screen or as my man suggested maybe we can make a door there and add a wooden porch just on the other side, see I was not the only one who got excited here. OH the possibilities!
He also found a small light weight snow thrower on wheels that we were promised worked great but to keep the receipt in case it didn’t. My Mom bought us one for the roof and though it is a Toro and it works nice to make paths for JT and the birds I would hate to leave it on the roof now this one he got is light and we can wrap in a small tarp and I bought a new Bright Green bungee cord to secure it to one of the 3 chimneys. Actually 2 of them will never have smoke coming out of them and with coal stove still needing a plate before I use it safely you get the picture anywhere up there will work. Yes there is snow up there again another 10 to 12 inches unless the wind blew it off. It was 20 below last night and now at 9:30 AM it has climbed up top minus 5 F.
Now the one thing I went to this store to look for was a ceiling fan-light kit. I figured as people remodel up here on the coast they would change those out too. We found blades, and parts but not what I really wanted so as we headed out for him to by the snow tool he says “Look!” There to my right was a shelf with eight complete fans. Mine is 30 years old and seems to have been tightened as much as it can be and with these new bulbs we use when they get shaken they do not last long. Well with so many to pick from I could not decide. So he did. I paid for the fan and back out to the truck for JT who was waiting patiently and the truck was warm sitting in the sun. Now to gas up the truck as you see the prices were .08 cheaper per. gallon then 20 miles back home.
I was driving so I decided a detour of sorts would be nice after all I had not one camera but three! We knew the beach had been battered at midnight and at noon as high tide arrived so I decided to take the scenic ride along the ocean so much for the savings at the gas pump. JT loves the beach as much as us but I never told her we were going but her nose told her we were going someplace she loved. She was no longer laying across the rear seat she was sitting up and waiting!
As we got closer we saw the roads had been swamped with sea water as well as lots of rocks and boulders. It had actually been closed for hours but now open I was still uncertain about continuing but with tide being now 3 hours before I forged onwards with a happy dog in the back seat with her head out the window. Brrrr I did say it was horrid right.
I drove into the nasty slop as he cringed for his truck. OH I heard him say “Now it will need to be washed.” lol time to toughen up this Honda!
Now come the photos as you know I usually I try to add some eye candy to make up for the less than eloquent words.
The clouds in the distance are from the storm that raged through leaving friends with 20+ inches of snow and us with 10 to 12.
You can see that the sea is still churning and whipping the surf into a frothy scene. Nice for photos but not nice to be out here. JT was in awe over the simplest of things. Her beach was covered with frozen sea water which she spent the 5 min. while I shot these images smelling.
I swear I do not know how these gulls do this with fast food joints just across the marsh.
Poor things left outside to bear the brunt of the most unbearable of weather. I even saw some out riding on the waves and I thought my life was tough NOT!!!!
Here are a few more shots ,see if you can feel the cold day though one shot I added warmth too, can you tell which one? All my shots are available now on cards and prints for your home and even on pillows and ties!
Trying to shake off the cold poor thing lousy photo as I was walking up to the car I was trying to capture them and not fall.
I was blustery and frigid but so worth the effort to make our way through the sloop of slushy sea water and rock that had come up and over onto our coastal route and washed more of our beautiful beaches away.
I hope she will always enjoy what ever way we spend our day with her. She will be eight on Mother’s Day and I want to always do things to see her filled with as much joy as she gives us.
Have a great weekend!

Well last night we lost an hour of sleep due to our moving our clocks ahead in spring as we do here in New Hampshire for Daylight Savings Time. I went to bed early after being at the beach. Yes a perfect day in the mid 40’s. It was a very Messy Beach and some lost their homes. I am not sure if you caught it on your news as I never know if AP news will broadcast things that happen here, all over the world.
You know I will keep you up on the stories in the news throughout New England well at least when it comes to storms and flooding.
JT and I walked along the shoreline for exercise and play while her daddy searched for treasure. I left her Frisbee in the truck and grabbed a stick we keep for windy days. I knew she would want to jump waves if we played with her favorite toy but today was not a day to be playing in the sea.
The waves were strong and very powerful. One after another slammed into the coastline. Remember we go when the tide is heading out. He only hunts low tides and I hunt the beaches when people have just left from a day of beach going and I never go down to the water with my machine. This is winter though in New England and we had an enormous coastal storm. It was very far out to sea but we still got nailed by it. The beach had 3 days easy of seas with 20 foot plus seas. It slammed into sea walls and busted them again. Roads were closed due to rock and four feet of water in some sections where the beach breached an area where the state has determined a pretty coastal route would be. Mother Nature has a funny way of taking back what always should have been a place of give and take. I never really think to add video to these lengthy posts but if you want to go to the web to look here are a few local news stations where you can see it in action.
So as we walked the dog and I we met others who were shocked by what they saw had taken place with yet another storm. The dunes which help to keep the water from homes and businesses were just about gone. They were huge. They were tall with pretty grasses holding them together. They had been a part of our lives forever if you grew up in New England. We were not allowed to ride dune buggies on them they were not for fun. They were to protect us and a place for wild birds to make their nests. Where would they go now? Tax money spent over and over to fix the beach. We have people who flock here from Canada and other parts of the world will they still come? I am sad people once again lost their homes. Yes they were silly to want to build by the sea but she is so beautiful on most days. Look at other beaches. Huge hotel chains line the beach in Virginia, Florida too. Everyone wants to get close to the sea. These past thirty eight years I can remember, spending so much time visiting them have seen so much change.
When sand was washed out to sea dunes collapsed and drainage pipes show up I guess filthy storm drain water screened through all the sand was supposed to be OK for the oceans now with rain coming and it will fall for days where will it go besides straight into our ocean that feeds us. So very sad.
Foundations showing up from buildings long ago gone. I used to go to the one that stood here beside the sea. The Frolics was famous for music, and drinks. Many years ago there had even been a huge swimming pool alongside this beach. Salisbury Beach have you ever been. It used to be a fun place to go not so much anymore well unless you are a dog with a great Mom and Dad.
She really wants to run time to let her off leash for a few minutes while I show you some of what we saw at the beach that was a mess.
That is JT’s Dad hunting the beach
Last one for this post
See the metal stakes?
The dunes came out this far and a wooden fence was attached to these all along the shoreline to KEEP PEOPLE OFF THEM but no one told the Sea to STAY AWAY.
Hi Everyone the three of us have been trying to get out and walk in between snow storms. We have gone when he goes detecting and he even found more rings. I lost a few more pounds but going to Mom’s and she is baking me a cake for my birthday and also has a New England Boiled Dinner is on the menu for us. I am blessed to still have her to celebrate with.
I am starting my day off early by getting my haircut, it is long and always in my face and lately it spends more time up in a clip so now is the time for a change to go with all the weight loss. Another year older and still on track to be a better healthier me. I love reading your blogs when I can get the reader to work. I am trying to follow you by email so bear with me. I have placed almost 400 photos for sale on-line and now as I get ready to go on my 10 day silent retreat I hope I come back to lots of sales. I will miss you all when I am gone as much as my dog and family, you bring me much joy in your posts. I miss doing two a day but as my followers rose in numbers it was hard to keep up but when I come back to it in April , I will be lighter in my heart and body, they won’t feed us much. Water and maybe breakfast and a lunch but no supper just tea and fruit at 4 PM them meditate till 9:30 PM we will start each day in meditation at 4 AM. My son suggested I jump right in the deep end! So with him having done it to heal his hurt and pain I am looking forward to my gift to myself. You know I will tell you all about it!
So let me show you what we have been doing while we wait for the next shoe to fall, MORE SNOW!
Surf was wild and dirty
Yes that is a pile of thick foam
What a knucklehead I yell for her to watch out but the FRISBEE in my hand she is not moving till I threw it . I don’t think she saw this heading at her.
Look at her she is covered with the filthy foam, she was not happy when I said she would need a bath. I am a bad Mommy to but her in tub with Luke Warm Water with pretty smelling soap but she will jump in the filthy sea of FOAM.
Her last catch time to get Daddy’s truck dirty.
Hope to touch base with you soon
I took this photo yesterday along the river but facing out to sea. It was beautiful over here, less wind then when JT and I tried to join her daddy on the ocean side, man was it cold and a very brisk wind. Cold we can take but that constant wind is not good and I am bundled up, well all but my weather-beaten face and to protect her from the harsh elements I have gone through my whole life, we walked over here to take shelter from the storm that was brewing.
What a deceiving day. It was so pretty to look at. Made me what to shower and get dressed and head out with him. I was down another two pounds on Tuesday weigh-in so I wanted to keep up the hard work. Funny you see something working even if it causes pain I am the type that has always been tough and just pushed through it. I am not saying it is smart , just saying more about who I am.
I have one month left before I leave and want to take in all my world has to offer. I want to walk and spend time with them. I will miss the three of them, who share this home with me. My son said he missed his pup but knowing she was with friends allowed him to take on the challenge himself so I will let go and trust. JT loves me as much as Mike’s dog adores him but Mike does spend time during the day without his girl and JT is always beside me lol I am her person. She watches over me and protects me even when I am not in danger so maybe after she gets over missing me for first few days she will become a dog again. Something tells me we will be like that commercial that runs here, of the lady coming back from war with her huge dog greeting her on the ground covering her with kisses, will also be played out here, hell being on the floor meditating for 10 days 14 hours a day will have the ground being normal for me. Wish me luck! lol
OK back to the REAL STORM BREWING this morning I woke to a weather report saying maybe we would miss a big snowstorm Thank You for listening to my prayers this time now they say just three to four inches but wet snow this time. JT loves catching snowballs she will be so happy. Now I will show you a few photos from the river as the sea. They are not my best and I am sorry I was freezing and will blame them on the wind!
Now look at the next pictures don’t them make it seem like it is just a beautiful day to SUNTAN
Not a care in the world.
A Loner lol no room for anyone else on this ones beach.
OK want to see some more again sorry shaking too much for really pretty ones but I am sure you will love them.
Now the mighty Atlantic Ocean was really churning and so frothy. The storm was still a twelve-hour ride away down in Virginia. So I really thought we would be getting another NEMO like storm. Looks can be deceiving right beautiful blue sky pretty colorful sea. BRRRRRRR
Wind blown JT waits for me to throw a hefty stick to her. No FRISBEE in these winds.
Well you can see she is tiring of me and my photos time to go for a walk
Have a nice weekend
So this is how the yard looked as we heard about NEMO arriving in our section of the US.
We got gas in the pick-up truck and in a gas can for our very old snow blower, we just hoped
it could stand up to the storm they were predicting for us. They said from 1 foot of fresh
light powder type snow to 2 feet in some places. The also said the winds would be wild.
I am here to show and tell that yes it arrived and what a storm it was. We never lost power
as so many did just south of us, maybe lots north of us as well I never watched the news we were too busy
You see the snow just started falling and it seemed it would never stop. I said I would stay up all night
and shovel it off as three inches fell, you know I have a bad back and plow truck is broken and I wanted
to help him as I knew him with a bad heart would be hours moving it from the rest of our yard. Well I fell
asleep and woke at 4 AM to let the dog and cat out. That wasn’t happening as the snow was up against the back door,
so in a robe, Bright Red(would help to find me if I fell and cracked my head, lol) and winter boots pulled on
over bare feet I stepped outside while JT and Rhythm watched from the warm living room, with their legs crossed,
as their Mom shoveled a 10′ long path for them to go do their business . The cat stepped out and right back in, her litter box is
all she would need. JT could pee but need more room to do anything else so here I am, snow coming down making and area wider
at the end of the path for her boy does she have a good Mommy. Now I forgot to tell you the snow was deeper than the boots I use in winter,
I refuse to wear knee-high boots for anything besides fashion!
She was now done and waited to be wiped dry, yes she is so spoiled and now I have just had a workout and unable to sleep, so I worked on the computer
and had my coffee and waited for daybreak, so I would not wake the dead(my neighbors) when I started the snow blower, my intent was to punch a path for
the pets and the wild birds who feed on the ground. It would be fast, NOT! It took 2 hours for me behind the machine to make a path through the snow that
had not yet stopped and to clear an area below the bird feeders. He was up by now with all the racket and he took over. He was out there for 8 hours moving
snow! Remember we have a small and very old snow thrower.
Here are some after shots.
Can you see the roof I went up and had to shovel that as he took all the snow I threw down and blew the yard all over again!
Did I tell you I hate winter and do you know those of us 55 and old are 4 times more likely to have a heart attack. The place was now safe
but were we? I hurt in places I never thought I could and that damn thing I wear on my hip to show how much activity I have done after 3 and a half
hours shoveling the roof only said I did hardly ANYTHING for exercise talk about adding insult to injury.
So I am off for weigh in and I am probably up a pound but hey I had to keep my STRENGTH UP
Miss you all but winter has had a grip on me
More photos today when I come back as I am sending him to the beach alone so I can eat candy and visit ALL YOUR BLOGS
from when I first joined WP

I still grabbed the leash.
JT sat in front of me, she loves this new thing
We take off, even though the skies are looking crazy bad here in the mountains.
I put the phone and camera in a bag, I was certain we would be caught in a downpour.
We were not.
We reached the top of an enormous hill and it was still.
I could hear my heart beating from the steep climb
JT was having a blast chasing her stick.
I was having fun capturing some pretty shots of the sky and flowers, that waited for us at the top.
Life is GOOD, the trek back is all DOWNHILL!
Glorious rain is falling now
The rivers will replenish
Chance of a Tornado has come and gone
The truck has escaped another blemish
We were under the gun all day
So glad it waited till now to start
All the families who went to the beach were able to stay
Bad weather these days is not for the weak of heart.
We need the rain to make things grow
The lawn here actually has begun to crunch
I will be able to wait a week to mow
I hope by then it is soft enough to sit upon to have a beautiful lunch
Our friends live on top of a Mountain/Hill and they raise reining horses and Border Collies and of course their children as well.
They had a horrible thunder and lightning storm hit their area of VT and lost every animal that was in their huge barn. Horses, border collie pups, female horses just getting ready to foal, it was sickening to see the loss and the pain the family went through, being helpless to help the animals when the lightning hit.
We had JT from litter before the one lost and took her up to see her old family and to give them hugs.
Here are the two horses that were outside and the dogs that were in the house, plus our JT , she loves when we go there.
Our little female has no idea how big this horse is and how quick she can move
She was scaring me.
Her brother is even crazier he is always up against these two female horses heels
Sad to think of all the horses that used to run here, now just two females, sisters.
Tex is the father of all the pups that were born here.
She is watching them
JT’s brother Tex’s son
Tex respects these giants, he has been chased before.
These horses mess with the dogs and their toy balls as they really are all young and playful.
Thanks for stopping by.
We had taken a trip to the shore to detect the beach, the waves were rough and the winds brisk.
We found a ring and change but once again, I captured on my Easy Share, a few interesting
photos on the way home.
These were Sail Boats that had been knocked over by the winds.
As we came along this curvy section of shore road I see this young man suiting up to catch the AIR. I pulled over and caught some action shots like I said I am ALWAYS READY!
I really wanted to just watch as I had never seen this done, close up in a marsh no less.
His Kite goes up in the wind with no problem.
Looks like he is also enjoying the day much differently from how we had but isn’t that what life is about, doing things you enjoy.
See what I mean about a brisk wind, man and I thought racing cars years ago was a RUSH
He and his buddy just jumped out of their cars, suited up, dragged their gear to the edge of the marsh and took off ! They must do this in a lot of places maybe safer than here .lol
We are along a very busy coastal route in NH.
Then the ride ends and thankfully on a cold and raw windy day.
In the middle of the ROADWAY!
I had my photos of this day safely on my SD Card and they were safe and would now pack up to maybe go for a beer and talk about the AIR they had Grabbed!
You just never know what you will find, during the course of a regular, plain old day .
Hope you enjoyed our day too
Feeling the loss of so many

The news these days are grim.
The weather reports are in.
Fires still raging, devouring a chunk of one state.
What will be their fate?
Other areas receive too much rain.
Does anyone else find this insane?
My heart breaks for those involved.
Now we wait for the reason to be solved.
They say arson played a part.
I for one that hope they have someone in charge that is smart.
For those who lost everything.
I pray they all find the strength to start again, with nothing.
forecasters say we are in for a mini heat wave.
Temps will be in the 90’s for 3 days.
After the rains in the southeast and the fires in the west I
hardly think we can complain about sunny warm summer days.
We have had our share of floods, hurricanes, ice storms, blizzards
but not this week. This week coming will be normal for this time of year.
My heart goes out to all of those in New Mexico,Colorado, and Utah
who lost every thing to raging wildfires, some which are still burning.
Other states are in the 110-115 range that is just crazy to imagine, day after day
the desert is one thing but other areas it is just plain nuts!
Stay safe out there as we go into the first week of July.
