Thanks again for all your support.
on my FAA site you can buy cards and add your own words inside soon I will offer mine here on Etsy with quotes from nature inspired writers 🙂
Painting with the rest of them and doing my best to follow the prompt.
I am looking forward to trying my first Paintout coming up soon in Portsmouth NH
not sure anyone will see it never mind offer it for sale but I have to try Plein Air and keep trying to get it right, it is how I can grow as a painter.
I now have art hanging in Epping, Exeter and Portsmouth not mind blowing art mind you but putting myself out there to be judged even though this is my third year of painting if I push myself it is only then that I will excell.
I have met so many really nice people out there. A few so full of themselves which is good as they will end up keeping themselves company, just wish they could see what could be. I will stay open to possibilities and not close myself off to the world outside my door.
I will teach a group my love of Watercolor on Tuesday wish me luck as I thought I was teaching children 🙂 I have made up 60 blank bookmarks out of wc paper and even punched a hole for them to take home and add ribbons too. I will teach them about a wet into wet wash then add salt for texture and then when dry have them finish a scene from their own mind which we all know is limitless. I just hope I can make them happy for an hour and a half or two.
After I spend time in the library I pack up and go to my own class to make the next attempts on this one yes very blurry but was giving my Facebook followers a sneak peak 🙂 (Folsom Mill Studio) can not wait to drop in the next layer.
Thanks for stopping by I am trying to get back into my reader and blogging. Have a great week!
Have you read in your local papers all about the saga playing out here in New England? The story of a family run business in turmoil? Where one cousin was in charge and all kinds of money was being made and new stores held “Grand Openings”, then the new shareholders wanted the other cousin to run the show.
Well it has been a well known fact about this families inner turmoil for those who grew up near the where it all takes place. I have looked on from the outside and as a trucker I have delivered loads of goods that would be placed on the shelves in their stores.
When I moved to my home in 1988 I made 20 mile round trip runs once a week, to do my food shopping. No they were not the only game in town just a place that toted “More For Your Dollar”. I have shopped at their many stores since I was 18 and now 58 I would say I have been a very loyal customer. From the very old original stores to my towns brand new one, I love them all, what I don’t like is that family squabbles, yes we all have them, have to interfere with the shopping public.
You see back in July they told Artie T. he would have to step aside to let his cousin Arthur S. run the show. The store was about to take on a look and feel unlike the last 40 years I shopped. The workers were upset and unrest began pretty quickly. The workers said “Bring Artie T BACK!” You see he cared about the company as well as the workers and maybe just a little less about the bottom line as his cousin maybe. The worker’s made signs. Some stayed home but most worked their shift and then stood outside for a month boycotting the way Artie T. was told to go. They rallied behind him in a way that makes me so proud. You see they stood up for a man they loved to work for and held their ground to the point where almost all customers showed their support for them and refused to enter any of the many, many stores of this famous New England supermarket chain. Have you shopped at one of our Market Baskets/Demoulas stores?
Day after day we had to shop elsewhere. Customers would bring their receipts to their local boycotted stores and tape them up as a reminder they had to eat and that this is what their beloved stores were loosing in revenue. Store after store windows were covered with receipts how could management not see? It has been going on for so many days that it is usually the lead story on our local news. The duel being played out by the two Arthurs.
Well the recent news on this fiasco is that they will all will be fired should they not go back to the stores and warehouses. Managers told to CLEAN UP the properties. Signs of BOYCOTT must come down! Receipts too! See they have had enough, well so did the workers.
It comes down to power plays and greed. Artie T. from the moment he was told to go home said he would buy controlling interest from his cousin. There came a point where this group of CEO’s stated another local food chain was interested in sweeping in to purchase the whole package. I for one watched that store put a Mom and Pop run small chain out of business when they moved in 3 miles away, with great prices and as soon as the other one failed up went their prices, which is why I traveled the 20 miles round trip each week for 40 years. So should they sell to them I will continue to shop my local Farmer’s Markets and Meat shops yes it will be more expensive but I have my priorities and principles as well and my allegiance is to my much loved Market Basket store.
We miss you Artie T.
Rock on to all those workers who held their ground and brought this company down upon their knees, begging for customers and for their workers to return to their posts, when maybe they should stayed on theirs knees just a bit longer and gave thanks to God for all they have enjoyed for so many years here in New England.
I will miss you so much if you go.
A valued customer indeed
Isn’t this such a peaceful photo a pig sound asleep while the place was loaded with squealing children.
Getting close to some real beauties.
Even the Famous Flying Wallenda Family was there to entertain us with their amazing High Wire work.
Back to some real pretty faces
Pretty little cows.
Fuzzy and so soft
Wonder what she is thinking?
Some you can tell exactly what they are THINKING!
More to come. Stay tuned.
You know I love my wildlife and you know I feed my birds and I have spoken about this Bear before and since I moved my computer out into the quiet kitchen area of the house and am no longer set up overlooking the lower yard and river. I miss a lot.
This morning I slept in till 6 AM as I went to bed real late. I put the coffee pot on and filled up my containers with fresh sunflower Seed to take out to fill the feeders so they could have breakfast while I read your blogs. I have been leaving the feeders empty to not entice this big black bear and any others with it from destroying the set up my darling made for me to feed them all. We recycled and used an old umbrella fabric removed and holes drilled in ends to hang feeders and suet from oh and a BELL since he destroyed it a couple of weeks ago so I can tell when he is out they’re messing with it so I can get PHOTOS after all it is what I DO right.
Well it was raining and JT grabbed her Frisbee and me the seed and off we went out to less than 100 feet from the back door maybe 60. I toss her the toy off she goes to catch then go potty and right back she comes to me for another throw. All the feeders full and us wet after 20 more throws we head back in. My coffee smelt great poured a cup and brought up the new reader to find all of you.
I am enjoying the coffee and reading and laughing and crying as some were real touching when the dog starts going NUTS!
Barking and carrying on. He was still asleep but he yelled BEAR. I go to grab my camera and both are plugged in and charging. I grabbed the Easy Share and I get into the living room where there was only a screen between us and the bag of seed and him and the feeders full of seed. He broke one arm but when JT scared him and our human voices he started to beat feet out of here. Thankfully. Then he stopped and start to turn to look our way and I screamed “Get out of Here” all the while JT going nuts and the poor cat who was outside took off and was not seen for 6 hours.
So here is the only shot I got.
Not sure if you can make him out but this is when he stopped and turned and looked at me and the dog seeming to not be worried about us much. I may end up not feeding the birds there goes my Dragonflies 😦
I swear I was just saying life was so CHILL lol then heart beating what would I do if he came through the screen wanting the whole bag of seed 😦
I shall load the shotgun and have it ready with the camera and fire over its head with hopes of making him change his address.
OK I am officially no longer bored
Do you have times in your life where you seem to be very busy but are really doing nothing at all.
How did my life get so simple?
I used to blog everyday.
I made Jewelry every week.
I walked the beaches all winter long and early summer mornings and captured the Sunrises along the Atlantic.
I went away in March and came back profoundly changed and at peace. So much so I don’t do much of anything really.
Yes I wake after 4 or 5 hours of sleep and have two cups of coffee, fresh ground. I eat a simple good for me breakfast as I answer emails play a game of words on Facebook all the while tossing a toy to JT. Then I wash up the few dishes sweep the floors and make the bed. I shower and get dressed and grab my camera JT grabs her Frisbee and off we go to walk the property. Playing catch and snapping photos. Not much plant wise happening here. so much rain, nutrient’s washed away and plants are stalled. I have yet to have the Monarchs show up good thing end of July and Butterfly Bush has yet to open as a way to welcome them here.
My food garden is sad. I have had two cucumbers, one tomato lots of basil and some lettuce. Tonight I snipped Dill for our Tuna fish sandwiches.
Corn is only just over my knee and I am short.
All those pretty shots you saw the last year have either rotted or refused to bloom so I have been busy with Dragonflies. They have been so willing too. I have them all on My Portfolio blog and re-blogged to 20 Lines or Living and Lovin. I am sure I will lose the bloggers I have on my list of followers but truly what should I write about. I have changed so much I hardly even know me.
I joined a Gym can you imagine. I am also in PT for left shoulder. I am still going to Weight Watchers though I do want to quit as I think I can save the $40 a week and do it on my own but then I think I need to get out of the house as winter will soon be arriving and all that damn shoveling once again so I need to be healthy.
With Meditation I have learned to relax but sadly I LIKE that A LOT!!!
So I will try to add some color and interest to this unexciting post the best I can.
This is one of the Garden Club Lilies in Bloom with a pretty insect . That’s right when it is not raining I spend an hour with a water can watering all the clubs plants.
After I pick fresh berries with the pup and her toy and my camera I make a plate with Greek Yogurt and delish berries.
Yes my kitchen had red counters hard to bounce the flash properly when hungry and tired and no tripod set up.
He kept telling me to come get photos of the last clutch for the year, her third. He then found a baby dead on the stairs below this nest. Lousy photo as I did not want another to be lost and the next day the nest day was empty.
As he worked in the back yard all spring and summer he got to watch them grow then fly away and she sat on more. This is right over the entrance into the beautiful barn I have in the back yard. As someone would approach the Mom would bolt to the trees beside the barn and then he would make sure he always closed the door so she did not fly in and die inside while her little ones went without and would die as well. He is learning to live as one with nature here for which I am very happy.
Black-eyed Susan just before opening.
Yes above is Dill I have begun to mess with my shots out of boredom 🙂
More later. Tomorrow rain maybe I will play with my Polymer since the floors are clean, dishes done and I will not be WEEDING
Have a great night everyone
I need some SUNSHINE waiting on Sat.
I started out just playing a game at night to unwind before bed to know having my own page for photography. Somehow at 57 I have come to fully embrace Facebook.
Friends and family on my personal page. Artists from around the world on my Artist page. Still play the same game to unwind.
I use all the ways Mark has it set up to keep private things private but if I am ever to sell anything I must let others SEE.
So for now I am ALL IN!
What a horrible night.
Beautiful towns covered by swat teams, one of the bombers is now dead but so is a MIT school officer.
Long night of terror for many I pray it ends TODAY
Two angry men bombs, guns, grenades WHY
Makes you wonder why so many flee from their homelands and flock here. It is not the America I knew as a little girl and it is very sad.
Praying for the people just 50 miles from me and America as well.
All trains, buses shut down. Businesses now closed people told to stay in their basements pray for us that this will end without another life being taken.
UPDATE the WHOLE CITY OF BOSTON IS SHUT DOWN!
No Taxis, autos, trucks everyone to stay in their homes and wait till he is caught.
He ran over his own brother when fleeing the shootout so no one is safe
This is CRAZY
Say prayers please one cop dead one injured is on in early 30’s and with a small infant 😦 so sad
Woman with infant now in police car being questioned girlfriend or sister.
Suspect bloody and in custody AMEN
The days have been getting just a little warmer. Really hard with all the snow not to have the refrigerator happening.
We worked two days on removing the last 11 inches from the driveway areas. Never made it to the roof this time we were hurting too bad it
has been a very long winter. Spring is almost here Robins searching for food in areas clean of snow and ducks as paired up and waiting for
us to pull out the beavers dam so they can lay their eggs. I will wait till the eight of April to start my seeds it will be awhile before the safe
date of May 30th in my part of the country for hard frosts to hit. I may get the peas in the yard where snow has been removed or maybe in
a pot would work better. I will grow potatoes in a bucket, celery in pots and lots of herbs in containers with a few flower seeds added to
make them prettier. I have a lot of work a head of me. I have half a house to finish getting the paint on and 3/4’s of the barn to finish.
I can not wait till it is completely done.
I also have lots of divisions in plants I have here on the property to start my English Garden. We have set the date for our Garden Club
Plant Sale for May 4th usually it is May 30th but we will combine it with our yard sale to raise funds to place flowers throughout our town.
I am not good at fundraising well I have not done that sort of thing since selling Girl Scout cookies way back when. I hate asking people for
money the cookies well they got to eat those. I am hoping the 4 other woman in our group who go shopping around town can pick up the
slack and do that part. I am the secretary so I can do follow-ups., place ads and get the word out we are looking for donated items and
plants they may have that can be divided and sold to raise money. We are hoping to get enough money to hang two huge flower pots from
the granite bridge downtown and to plant two more intersections with gorgeous color.
We are going to ask the local businesses for items to add to a table for raffles, gift certificates or other creative ways to get their name as
supporters out there. We have hair salons, barber shops, flower shops, coffee shops, diners, gas stations which hopefully can do even a gift
of $10 or $15 that we can raffle and raise money for flowers. Money is tight for everyone. No one has extras these days. We will do the
best we can to make our town look pretty for those who live here as well as for those just passing by.
Really isn’t much to say right now when I come back maybe there will be a story or two or maybe nothing at all. I won’t know till the 7th of
April. I will spend the next few days trying to catch up with all of your wonderful blogs. I miss being here daily but there is not much to
share of late. I set up the site to sell some prints and its own Facebook page so that can run itself now. I have the other blog for photos and
I will go through and delete all but the best in my eyes. Time for changes to begin not only with me but my surroundings. Make this place
comfortable and pretty, continue with getting healthy but taking more hikes with JT. I will spend more time with a tripod sitting along the
coast and capturing the new day as she starts to come up at the horizon. Life is good simple but good. Hope all is well with all of you.
Hi everyone. No I am not lost but usually I shovel then suffer in pain but it is the workouts that have me seeing consistent success now at the scale on Tuesdays and is getting me closer to goal which will be a HEALTY weight never scrawny . I need my strength to make it through my meditation as well as that new English Garden I will be working on if winter ever let’s go of her death grip up here. No don’t worry just hard on old broken bodies but my sense of humor such as it is will get me to spring oh and the rains! Today NH is under the spell of another huge storm and why I am getting rains when others are getting twelve more, heavy wet inches of snow I have no idea but you know I am so grateful for each and every drop for it is melting our snowpack and snow on the roofs is shrinking too he said it was too slippery to climb up yesterday which worried me with the weight of heavy wet snow ruining so many homes and businesses elsewhere. Well I sold my conversion van and made another friend. She too is an author with all of you here I follow and follow me I can surely get my three written! I sold the van to get cash to fix my pick-up the one with the PLOW kind of late now as the birds are already singing their hearts out looking for the prettiest girls in town. I will scrub hummingbird feeders again to make sure no dust has gotten into the bags I store them in and get the seeds started for my garden even if I have to grow in 5 gal. buckets or a pallet have you seen that on Pinterest? I think this year I will even start Sunflowers in egg cartons or yogurt cups as I have plenty of empties and this way after the diet of black oil sunflower seeds I have been going through with my wildlife so far almost 400 lbs. of seed, they will not be able to dig up the ones I hide to line my yard with. Hard to outsmart wildlife though I am sure something hungry will come for the green growth like us and our salad greens!
So how have you all been? Life good or hard right now? I love hearing from you all and that some of you are regular visitors to my Portfolio Blog please me. You can comment on any blog. Tell me if you like certain photo or what you don’t like remember the only thing I have ever been a professional at is a driver, a big rig driver so you can help by chiming in . Some of you know I have been selling my photos on FAA under Eunice Miller and that I even set up a Facebook page that will link my photographs I have placed for sale right to their site in most cases. If you are artists that have begun to follow my blog thank you. Blogging has made me a better photographer still not anything to write home about but me and my little Kodak Easy Share once in a while capture something pretty and moving to some besides me for which I am thankful for isn’t that why we decide to step out of our nice comfy spot at home and reach out to the world at large with art and words. I would not have gotten to know you all had I not taken that very first step last Memorial Day weekend. I am blessed by each and every one of you and I think you already know that by what we have shared.
Now it wouldn’t be a Living and Lovin blog without a photo or two so this is what I have been thinking of
My Lilacs in full bloom calling out to all the insects and pretty butterflies that adore them as much as I do even Ron loves them JT loves to smell them she is a girl you know and all girls love pretty flowers.
For the bees to arrive so my fruit trees will bless us and the wildlife who also love fruit.
Now the Forsythia that are all over this place we call home are sure signs of SPRING arriving.
Now for this year along with the new English Garden area Ron will make me a sculpture as he was a welder for 35 years before retiring early with injuries. I am thinking something in pretty copper but maybe a mix if they can be put together with the arc from his welding rod. He is the pro so I will let him do his thing and praise the heck out of him because he is a good man to put up with me and so much sadness though it has gotten so much better since I have stopped hiding. So look for a blog on his artist work in the future here.
I will also divide my Hostas for an upcoming Garden Club Plant Sale in early May and take some new Lilacs and move them to my berm on the eastern side of my property I will add some shoots of Forsythia on berm as well because they will look beautiful as they grow and drape along this area with the Lilacs up above with a few little pretty shaped Pines. It will provide me with Privacy yes but mostly block the Orange Fence(plastic snow fence) from my view while I sit and tend to my garden since I do not see her as ever taking it down, even though it sits on the towns right a way.
So for now I will look and deal with the CRUD of Winter with visions of a beautiful spring!
We will hang out by the sea a lot till them even on a lousy weather day we can always find a ray of hope here along the water’s edge.
Take care everyone and again stop in at anyone of my places here on the world-wide web, you are more than welcome.
This story is more about our journey home.
First a little about our trip first.
We had travelled by conversion van, a 1993 with a big Patriots mural on the side.
Me and him and JT.
We were loaded up with winter and summer clothes.
Prospecting equipment to hunt for Gold.
Dog food and human food.
Tent, Sleeping bags and even a dog bed.
We stayed in the tent till the Christmas day 80 mph winds broke a tent stake.
So we made do inside the van, for a few more days.
New Years Eve came and went with a big party with everyone else who was prospecting.
We set about getting our site we had used, out on BLM land, back to the way we found it and
said our goodbye’s.
JT had been away from the beach for so long that I planned our long ride home, to NH, hitting as
many beaches from the east side of Texas all along the Gulf Coast. She was so excited when she saw her first body of water.
This dog is so smart. Here it is winter and her head is outside the window, smelling the sea. You should have seen her face when I pulled
off into a State Park she was allowed in and I grabbed her Frisbee! She bounded out of that side door and headed for the shore.
Just like when you would tell your children you were taking them to the beach. Now this scene got better with each stop along the way.
She was beside herself with joy of seeing water again and not just in her bowl.
We watched the miles add up on the odometer, with each one added we were getting closer to home.
We were tired. Coyotes kept us up most of the nights in the desert . I suppose it could have been worse with a bear or mountain lion.
We made it up to New Jersey on the turnpike and knew we were six hours or less away from the door depending on what we hit as we
arrived in New York City area. Rush hour was what we would be looking at so I prepared for bumper to bumper,
nasty NYC traffic.
Now the real reason for this post.
Have you heard of Captain Sully?
The pilot who landed his plane full of crew and passengers in the Hudson River.
I had no idea it was happening as I got to the end of the turnpike to pay my toll and wondered where all the traffic was.
It was actually not sitting well inside of me. I lived on these roads. I knew something horrible had happened, the highway was EMPTY
just the three of us in a Chevy van with our football team logo on the side and no one to honk at us.
I asked my boyfriend to pop out the tape and get me a local channel.
We were now up on top of the George Washington Bridge, with the water down below us, as we heard on the radio about a plane landing on the
Are you kidding me, the reports were saying everyone was OK and they were calling this crew heroes. Boats from close by were picking people up
out of the river and rushing them to safety .
We drove through the rest of New York, never touching the brakes and headed into Connecticut then Massachusetts and into New Hampshire, the
ride really flew by, funny how when you hear awesome news it takes you out of everything you may have been worrying about and puts you on cloud
That day I knew the world had witnessed a miracle.
It was a new year and he had landed his plane on the HUDSON RIVER, who does that?
Well it all came flooding back to me today as I watched him honored again, this time on The Katie C. Show.
He may never see himself as a hero but to me that is what he will always be.
Thanks Captain Sully

NOMINATIONS for the Beautiful Blogger Award are:
I was attending a local fair , an agricultural fair .
They had rides set up for children to climb upon.
Many farm animals were being shown by their handlers
with hopes of receiving a Blue Ribbon.
The smells of Fried Dough, and Cotton Candy and Carmel Apples
were down each and every row.
There were tall men well men on stilts.
I was drawn to just one.
This pretty one with her WINGS
She walked beside this artistic little dwelling.
I loved the color and everything going on with it but
when she turned and I saw her wings I knew I needed
to somehow catch up and snap two photos.
You probably had to be there to understand but this was so not
what you would normally see walking about at a fair, where they sheared sheep and milked cows.
Do you like fairs? What’s your favorite part? Got a photo of it? SHARE! lol
It was being hauled by a Yellow Turtle.

Glorious rain is falling now
The rivers will replenish
Chance of a Tornado has come and gone
The truck has escaped another blemish
We were under the gun all day
So glad it waited till now to start
All the families who went to the beach were able to stay
Bad weather these days is not for the weak of heart.
We need the rain to make things grow
The lawn here actually has begun to crunch
I will be able to wait a week to mow
I hope by then it is soft enough to sit upon to have a beautiful lunch
I’m grateful to my blog followers, readers, and author pals for your support.

Hummingbirds and me go back a long way.
I love the little jewels who make this long
journey here each spring.
They arrive just about the time my Apple tree blooms.
It is one reason the tree is still here how would I know when to get their sugar-water
ready and hang out the feeders. I always have the place ready for them to rest, fuel up
and build their nests and raise their young.
The photos here are taken with an Kodak Easy Share , no tripod and some just in the wrong light
for such an inexpensive camera but I wanted you to see some of them who call this
place their 2nd home.
Salvia is always here waiting for them too.
She is so tiny and beautiful as she sits and watches me
She will soon have her strength back from her long trip
and ready her nest and raise her little ones.
A young male sits on a Lilac branch.
I always keep feeders close enough to a bush, for them to take cover in.
I wonder how I will capture them on a tripod
as they dart to and from flower to feeders
must learn to use flash to stop their action!
I use a variety of feeders for their nectar.
Always near plantings or real flowers they love.
As you can see the sugar trumps the Petunia this time.
Always waits for its turn at one of the open spots in the feeder.
Right now the bees and this female are sharing nicely
Hoped you liked my Hummingbirds
27 years ago when I had to pick a CB Handle this
