Artist's Come Together For The Farm Animals

Live and Let Live Farm Rescue in Chichester NH can always use help to care for their place and animals.

Some local artists have come together and painted animals and scenes from the local area in a joint effort to raise money for them.

Wild Women’s Wellness Center donated a spot on the lower floor around back in their building on RTE 4 in Chichester NH as well to hang our artwork.

You can come meet the Artist’s Friday night the 23rd of March from 5-7 pm or come by Sat. from 10-4.

Take home an original piece of art or maybe a card to do your share to help this fundraising event make a difference in their lives that they get to live out at this farm.

Horses, goats, dogs, cats you name it they can be found here.  You can also tour every Sunday at 2:30 pm

I may have to put up a fence as I am falling in love

Yes I come from those who had farms.  I always adored the animals that lived there but never had the time for one of my own lately though the animals around the corner are calling out to me.  I absolutely think they are adorable.
Want to see the subject of my affection?

They love me too!  One eye on me and that black thing I have in my hand and the other eye watching JT in the truck.

Look at that pretty face  I bet you it would follow me home.

See they have plenty!

One of the others is complaining about me as the field had lots of younger ones with their moms so this one turned to see if it was talking to her yes the females have horns and I bet they hurt.

JT was mad she wanted to be beside me to protect me but I was not anxious to see if the electric fence was on.

Wonder if she would like a new friend in her yard?  Would she want to share me with yet another I am not really sure but I do know we all get along here.  She prefers her friends to throw a Frisbee though.  Dogs are useless so I am sure a cow would be as well.

The turkey here do not mind me or her or that cool cat!

We are within 6 feet of these younger turkeys and they could care less about the dog, cat or me and that worries me but I am the one who cares for them during the horrid winter.  Tonight they are all up in the tree beside the house so come morning I will wake to their calls.

A few more spots of color till it arrives FULL ON

RE-BLOGGED STORIES FROM OTHERS

Mad Cow Disease

I told you all it was GREEN UP HERE

Writing Between the Lines

Earlier this month I visited the Hampshire College campus in Massachusetts.  I was there to spend a few days with my daughter Bea…

…who was studying at the amazing Yiddish Book Center at the college.

Hampshire has a lovely campus in the middle of rural farm country.  And it was 97 degrees.

I’m from The Emerald City and I know green when I see it.  Believe me, that countryside was green.

It was midday, and the campus was deserted, except for mad dogs and Englishmen.  Oh, yeah, and Bea and me.  We were walking to the dorm to sit in front of the AC and have lunch (did I mention it was 97 degrees?).  Then out of nowhere came a couple of dairy cows, fresh off the farm, looking like two giant Oreo cookies on the hoof.  Completely out of context, they looked larger than life.

One doesn’t often see…
