Now Showing In Chichester NH

I dropped of two watercolors matted and ready for hanging at the Wild Women’s Wellness Center in Chichester NH where the art of many hope to raise funds much needed for the animals of all sizes and shapes up the road called Live and Let Live Farm.

They give homes to animals with life to live but no home to live at.  They need food and care never mind love.  They open the farm up on Sundays at 2:30 PM for tours to see all the animals if you are in the area vacationing or if we have too much snow on our slopes 🙂 take a spin and a walk around the place.

So the particulars on the Artist Reception are go to RTE 4 and pop into the lower level of the brick building where Wild Woman Wellness is. Plenty of parking  around back as well.  We will be there from 5-7 PM  Saturday there will also be raffles, food laughter and fun as they hope to sell all the art to bring in money for the farm.  I have donated these two watercolors and am donating 100% of my personal sales.

Both of mine are framed and ready to hang as are the beautiful works of art that have also been hung up for the show.  There may be bins with cards or prints I left before it was set up but will be there Friday night but I teach a class on Sat. so I will have to miss that and then run up to get them if they do not sell.

Stay warm we hear we may have another 3 to 8 inches of snow due Wednesday night OH JOY

Warning: Frostbite in Dogs

Animals get frostbite as well

Frostbite in Dogs from VAC Animal Hospitals

What is frostbite?

frostbite_in_dogs_general_information-1_2009Frostbite or congelatio in medical terminology [next step] is the damage that is caused to skin and other tissues due to extreme cold. When the environmental temperature drops below 32°F (0°C), blood vessels close to the skin start to narrow or constrict. This constriction of the blood vessels helps to preserve core body temperature by diverting blood toward the core and away from the cooler parts of the body. In extreme cold or when the body is exposed to cold for long periods, this protective mechanism can reduce blood flow in some areas of the body, especially the extremities, to critically low levels. The combination of cold temperature and reduced blood flow can allow the tissues to freeze, causing severe tissue injury. Frostbite is most likely to happen in body parts farthest from the heart and in tissues with a…

I may have to put up a fence as I am falling in love

Yes I come from those who had farms.  I always adored the animals that lived there but never had the time for one of my own lately though the animals around the corner are calling out to me.  I absolutely think they are adorable.
Want to see the subject of my affection?

They love me too!  One eye on me and that black thing I have in my hand and the other eye watching JT in the truck.

Look at that pretty face  I bet you it would follow me home.

DSC_0686

See they have plenty!

DSC_0691

One of the others is complaining about me as the field had lots of younger ones with their moms so this one turned to see if it was talking to her yes the females have horns and I bet they hurt.

JT was mad she wanted to be beside me to protect me but I was not anxious to see if the electric fence was on.

DSC_0669

Wonder if she would like a new friend in her yard?  Would she want to share me with yet another I am not really sure but I do know we all get along here.  She prefers her friends to throw a Frisbee though.  Dogs are useless so I am sure a cow would be as well.

The turkey here do not mind me or her or that cool cat!

DSC_0723

We are within 6 feet of these younger turkeys and they could care less about the dog, cat or me and that worries me but I am the one who cares for them during the horrid winter.  Tonight they are all up in the tree beside the house so come morning I will wake to their calls.

A few more spots of color till it arrives FULL ON

The Cutest Thing Caught My Eye

After working so hard on Willow I needed Yoga yesterday badly and decided to take the back roads home which only add one more mile to the trip.  You have seen my back road photos of this area if you follow my blog.  I remember when they brought the first 2 in and how beautiful they were.  I seem to adore cows.  Yesterday I saw the cutest thing, I had to stop and take a few photos to share with you.

One last shot of what had me smiling and made me pull over and shoot through the passenger side window

I needed a happy moment and as I turned the bend there it was.

She Wore Her Wings Proudly

I was attending a local fair , an agricultural fair .

They had rides set up for children to climb upon.

Many farm animals were being shown  by their handlers

with hopes of receiving a Blue Ribbon.

The smells of Fried Dough, and  Cotton Candy and Carmel Apples

were down each and every row.

There were tall men well men on stilts.

I was drawn to just one.

This pretty one with her WINGS

She walked  beside this artistic  little  dwelling.

I loved the color and everything going on  with it but

when she turned and I saw her wings I knew I needed

to somehow catch up and snap two photos.

You probably had to be there to understand but this was so not

what you would normally see walking about at a fair,  where they sheared sheep and milked cows.

Do you like fairs?  What’s your favorite part?  Got a photo of it?  SHARE!    lol

It was being hauled by a Yellow Turtle.
