Postaday asks if you had a Robot what would you have it do. I would have to say I would love one to weed my gardens. Oh my knees are hurting bad and to have a shiny machine going up and down each row, gently pulling just the weeds and allowing all my pretty flowers to take center stage now that I would call a perfect garden helper!
I am going to try this challenge : Zero to Hero 30-Day Blog Challenge so for some of you who already are following I will bore you. since many of you have been with me since the start but for this challenge I have to introduce myself and blog to potential new followers.
My Blog is called Living and Loving and my name when I set this up was NUTSFORTREASURE but now most of my followers know me as Eunice, from New Hampshire. We are a very friendly bunch I only wish there was a way to meet up with everyone in one spot and have a beautiful visit and party. It would surly be talked about for many years to come, I am sure of it.
When I started this journey within these pages, now known as posts, it was a long Memorial day weekend and I was needing to learn to Live and Love again, hence the name. See it was me getting ready to LIVE AGAIN and I am on my way thanks to so many others I have here to follow. They are so supportive even if they have only time to leave a Like. 🙂
I am supposed to tell you what my blog is about and all I can say is life. Laughter, tears, joy and sadness can all be found here interspersed with lots of photos and re-blogs of others beautiful blogs and some pretty tasty recipes to try. I see me as a person who likes to share pretty things as the world has enough ugly stuff going on.
I share crafts I do as well as life with my beautiful Border Collie JT, just the sweetest female dog who came into our lives at just the perfect time.
I will be changing some things on my blog as this challenge is supposed to do that. So bear with me as I work it out.
My intention is to stay in touch with all who I adore here but I love meeting new people too, the hard part is keeping up with everyone so I will get a new computer by the end of April so I can continue to keep in touch.
Welcome to all new followers and thanks to those who have watched me grow, I am sure you know by now how much I love you all
Well some of you know I garden and others know I joined the local garden club and helped make a few corners pretty here is an update on that part of my life.
This past Sunday we held a Plant Sale to raise money and to get others to add pretty flowers to their landscapes. Let me show you what we had.
You can not be seen any better in out town on a Sunday morning unless you were signing in church.
We had Perennials and Mums that were not quite open yet just enough to show what color they were going to be.
See just beginning to show their beautiful blooms.
We planted 4 in two of our intersections and two at the town hall, three at the Safety Complex, and just three at the intersection close to my home since that one was so full of color already.
This is one of two planters that sit at the top of the stairs leading into our small towns Town Hall. Pretty work our member did. Remember there are just 5 of us and all part-time.
We are loving how they are filling in and are praying this winters snow plows do not destroy all of our hard work.
Hope you live in a town with a garden club who does things like this to make it special. We just have 3 corners done so far but that’s not bad for 1 year and all that digging and re-planting and part timers.
I live in New England where there is still lots of opportunities to barter. You just have to ASK.
I would love to put myself out there to get some things done around here without reaching for my checkbook or breaking what is left to my back.
Let’s see I have lots of SKILLS to Barter with but are they worthy of what I want them to do for me? Not sure. I guess I am afraid, yes me, to find they have no use for a house sitter, driver, photographer, dog trainer, gardener, errand runner, cleaning, debris removal, pruning, painting, planting, dead-heading and babysitting.
I am worth a lot for what I know but would they be worthy of real work I need done HERE.
Guess I better get busy since I have yet to add my Barter request to Crag’s List wait are you good at painting real tall barns
Mom got me all dressed up and walked me to the top of the street.
The rest of the kids from the neighborhood where there too. Not sure if my Mom was the only one to take photos but I can tell the sun was in my eyes. Didn’t we all look like we were eager to attend. The real photo she should have concentrated on getting was the last day I attended SCHOOL, now that was the most important day!
My best friend was in the back row standing next to a boy. She moved here from the deep south Georgia and Alabama . We were best of friends instantly. We did everything together. She would come places with my family like to Zoos and Parks and I would go with her family to the Ocean. The place I always went with them to, is still my very favorite section even though storms have destroyed so much of what was so beautiful.
We had one TV, a Black and White for years. We also got to play after supper, under the one street light, which happened to be right in front of our house. We played kickball and dodge ball life was good.
Out of all the years Cathy and I attended school together we were only in one class together, eighth grade math. By then we liked boys though neither of us were allowed to date. Boys would come over and sit around and listen to music with us but no dating.
When we went to high school we parted ways she went to the local high school in town and took college courses
while I took a test to be accepted to the new School in town. Vocational/Technical High School that had students from five towns attending. It was a beautiful school and I met so many wonderful people and you know most of our small class of 1974 is on my Facebook Friend list. I think this speaks volumes of the times and the families. We came from hard working, Blue collar workers with one car, 3 kids and a dog and no divorces.
I never asked if we were rich or poor I never went without supper unless I refused to eat what Mom cooked. Remember the dog, he would eat ANYTHING, he was our best friend at the dinner table till Mom caught on and tied him outside while we ate. We tried to always finish supper no mater how much we hated Lima Bean Soup so we could have dessert remember she was a great baker, her cakes and pastries were the best tasting.
We were allowed to go out after breakfast and not return till lunch you see we lived on a dead-end road with just 15 houses on it and all our other friends lived in the other houses with their brothers and sisters. We were never inside unless it was raining. We always played at each others houses. The Mother’s we always home. I can only remember two times I actually had a babysitter well till I turned eleven and became one. I babysit my brothers, I had 3 of them and then babysit for a family with 8 children and a family with two of the sweetest little girls. I made enough money babysitting and always bought family gifts at Christmas but put mine and my brothers names on them for our parents.
So many things happened on this dead-end street where I grew up. I loved this place so much I never wanted to grow up. It was a place where many memories, that will last a lifetime, were made.
