No I did not take photos yet after shoveling for seven hours in 24 hour period I was too tired to snap a photo really that tired and I fell again. I told him to return my boot cleats he had bought me as I usually am very steady sadly yesterday I was not! I am OK bad bruise that will heal in time I have enough going on never mind see another doctor.
So today I will share some more shots from our day before the storm at the coast. We went for a long walk to see the seals and snowy owls maybe an eagle or two. Mostly seals and gulls as it was cold and windy and I knew I would need my strength for the storm clearing so we were only outside for two hours in it but JT had a great time with me as I did her then we watched her daddy look for treasure. Oh I did change my photo on all my sites to the same photo except for my Friends of Living and Loving Facebook page so no longer will you see a shot of him bent over digging treasure but he is.
So here are a few shots of JT and maybe a landscape or two sorry if photos are too large and take forever to load I will work on that next time I upload. I need the largest format to sell and do not want 3, 4, or 5 of the same photos in my computer all in different sizes I am computer illiterate
so I do things the easiest way I can to find the photo I want to share with you and just click on insert photo.
Seeing him digging down on the beach thinking she would take me there silly girl she is fearless.
She had never paid attention to the seawall but on this cold day feeling no pain she jumped up on her own and wanted to walk it. Seems as she gets older I may have to watch her more.
A pretty place to sit and watch a sunset and a group of very loud seals
back to the truck to wait for the sunset and go home and await the storm good thing they brought dinner for the gulls
Can not wait till I get back to the sea
Winters we have the place to ourselves brrrrrrrr
What do girls born and raised in New England do on a warm winter’s day? Well if they own a home and dream of spring days in mid January they go outside! It was in the forty’s yesterday and the sunshine felt good. I dressed warm enough for a little exercise never knowing how much I would actually do as I began.
Now if you are a follower of Living and Lovin you know I love my wild birds. Last year over 300 pounds of just the black oil sunflower seeds were devoured. That is enough for me to use them as dependents on my IRS Tax Form! We the winter is in full swing and they are once again depending on me to help them through. So on this gorgeous day it was time to clean up some of the mess they made as the snow was gone in most parts from where I hang their feeders and spread seed on the ground for all who do not fly up to the many feeders here. What a mess there was of empty shells. So here it was mid January and I had a rake one used for raking leaves in the fall and a snow shovel and a ice chopper. Yes we need many tools when you own a home in New England. I raked the piles up and then picked them up to shovel over the edge where the ducks and ground birds could pick out the corn and unopened shells.
This is one of the piles I was able to shovel and scatter below in the Lilacs and other small bushes.
Seasons here often get mixed up. As you can see by two of the tools I used a lot.
Then it was time to chop ice and do I mean CHOP I hurt so bad after three hours but you see it was going to go back to winter so I had to do all I could.
The yard is so flooded by the beavers downstream my yard ruined once again by the release of a lake in a river that no longer flows downstream. So I had ducks here, three pairs of Mallards.
Snow and sun and no cropping of this shot but you see what I mean. I came in and wrote the State of New Hampshire a note saying to clean the river out of my yard and added lots of pretty photos hope it works.
I grabbed a few wheat thins and a glass of water and some yummy humus for a snack then packed up the cameras and JT and went to the shore. I figured a nice ride after all the work I did and a walk with my best girl at the beach would make me feel better well I hurt real bad on way home but had a beautiful early evening there as her and I walked. I stopped going to Weight Watchers so it is important to stick with the plan and exercise to keep all I have lost OFF even if it KILLS ME :) She found a nasty looking tennis ball for me to throw and I thankfully placed her stick I had been kicking into my back pocket. She always finds treasures just like us. We are a perfect family.
How is that for a pretty way to end a backbreaking day. There are huge seals out on those rocks enjoying the day just like us.
There were even surfers who wanted to get out and enjoy a warm January day
It was nice but not that nice! :)
Now today it is snowing to beat the band as they say in these parts and no matter if I am ready to shovel or not I must. I will try to remember the beautiful night along the shore and when the storm is but a memory head right back over there.
Have a great Weekend
Boyfriend is hunting the sea for treasure and JT and I are getting some much-needed walking in.
She loves when I tell her we are going to the beach.
She runs to the door wagging her tail then runs to get her Frisbee . She is so very happy I can see it in her eyes.
Wind recently was 45 mph but she never gave a hint that is was bothersome to her. It was warm and so walking we went along the
Merrimack River where it meets the sea.
I never looked for shells or sea glass.
I spent the hour and half walking with her and kicking a stick as the winds would have taken her Frisbee far, far away. She wanted it and I said find a stick so off on the mission she went up ahead to find a good one.
We came upon a group of men, they looked kind of suspicious to me, even JT lowered her head and growled softly. They were huddled under a tree and as I got closer I saw the spotting scopes and HUGE camera lenses all pointed into the Fir trees. I asked what they had cornered in the tree the older man said “Birds”. I sort of felt bad for the bird lol no damn privacy! Now the photo of the men could have been used in a “Birding Book” or front page of paper on a slow news day.
After our walk and play were done, we went to sit in the truck and take a break from the wind when I saw a woman walking towards us and the wooden walkway with her tripod and cameras. She saw JT with her pretty face watching her through the open window and she proceeds to start snapping photos of her, what she did not know is that JT is already FAMOUS, with her own followers. We started chatting and seems she tries to capture birds for Audubon and that was why all the men with huge lens were there. They have groups that meet and hunt the birds down to photograph. I see so much being present had they sat on this bench see what they could have caught in their viewfinder
Pretty Seals hanging out enjoying the day yes here in New England.
